The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced an expedited process to replace Ghanaian passports that were lost or damaged during this week’s devastating floods.
In a press release issued on Friday, July 3, the Ministry expressed its deepest sympathies to families of those who lost their lives and to all persons affected by the flooding, describing the disaster as one that has caused widespread destruction of property and significant hardship.
The Ministry said affected persons whose passports were lost or damaged can contact a dedicated hotline, 055 936 8563, from Friday, July 3 to Friday, July 17, 2026, to begin the replacement process.
Applicants are required to provide their name, date of birth, gender as captured in the lost or damaged passport, as well as a contact number for follow-up.
According to the Ministry, it aims to replace all eligible lost and damaged passports within one week of the application process.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to supporting government efforts to assist flood victims and pledged to stand in solidarity with all those affected during the recovery period.
