Interior Minister urges remote work as flooding disrupts Accra after heavy rains

Muntaka Challenges Afenyo-Markin On E-Levy Reportage
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Interior Minister, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has called on Ghanaians to stay home and adopt remote working arrangements as parts of Accra continue to grapple with severe flooding caused by hours of heavy rainfall.

The appeal comes as several major routes across the capital have been rendered difficult or impassable, leaving commuters stranded and slowing down economic activity.

Authorities say the situation poses safety risks for road users, with emergency and municipal teams monitoring affected areas and working to restore normalcy where possible.

The Minister emphasized the need for caution and temporary adjustments to daily movement until conditions improve, urging employers to prioritize the safety of staff during the period of disruption.
