A solemn gathering was held in Tema West to mark the second anniversary of the disappearance of Madam Paulina Lamisi, popularly known as Akambodipo, as renewed calls were made for justice and answers regarding her whereabouts.

Madam Lamisi, the Tema West Constituency Women’s Organizer, vanished without a trace on June 12, 2024. Two years on, her family, loved ones, and the wider community continue to grapple with uncertainty and unanswered questions.

Addressing the gathering, Tema West MP, Hon. Lawyer James Ennu, speaking on behalf of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed deep sorrow over the prolonged disappearance, describing the occasion as more than a political event.
“This is not just about politics; it is about a community united in grief and in the search for answers,” he said.
Hon. Ennu paid tribute to Madam Lamisi’s dedication and commitment to the constituency, describing her as a devoted mother, sister, daughter, friend, and tireless servant of her community.
“Lamisi was more than a constituency executive. She was the heartbeat of women’s mobilization efforts in Tema West,” he noted.
He recalled her instrumental role in organizing and empowering women ahead of recent elections, often working closely with his wife to develop strategies that contributed significantly to the party’s success in the constituency.
The MP revealed that he has maintained regular engagement with Madam Lamisi’s family, constituency executives, the Ghana Police Service, and other relevant stakeholders in an effort to keep the search active. However, he stressed that no family should be subjected to such prolonged anguish and uncertainty.
According to him, the disappearance of Madam Lamisi transcends political affiliations and should be viewed as a matter of national concern.
“This is not a partisan issue. It is a human issue that speaks to the safety and security of every Ghanaian citizen,” he emphasized.
The gathering also issued a series of appeals:
- To the Inspector-General of Police (IGP): Intensify investigations and deploy all necessary resources to help resolve the case.
- To the Public: Share any credible information that may assist authorities in locating Madam Lamisi.
- To Security Agencies: Continue pursuing the case with transparency, commitment, and urgency until answers are found.
As a symbolic reminder of her absence, the Tema West Constituency has continued to leave Madam Lamisi’s seat vacant at all official meetings.
Delivering a message of solidarity to the family, Hon. Ennu assured them that they remain supported in their quest for justice.
“Please know that you are not alone. We share in your pain, we hear your cries, and we remain committed to seeking truth and justice,” he stated.
The commemoration ended with a heartfelt appeal to the nation:
“Help us find Paulina Lamisi. Help us bring answers to her family. Help us bring closure to a matter that has caused so much pain and uncertainty.”
