Rev. Benjamin Boateng warns against lust, urges believers to pursue genuine love rooted in marriage

Rev. Benjamin Boateng warns against harmful procrastination

Rev Benjamin Boateng explained that lust is a powerful feeling that many people struggle to resist. However, he stressed that Scripture teaches believers to guard not only their actions but also their thoughts. According to him, the Bible makes it clear that when a person lusts after someone in their heart, it is already considered a moral failing.

Rev. Boateng further noted that even when two people mutually agree to engage in sexual activity outside marriage, the act still falls under what the Bible describes as fornication. “Agreement does not make it right in the sight of God,” he emphasized, adding that the only sexual relationship that is not considered sinful is one that takes place within holy matrimony between a husband and wife.

Turning his attention to relationships, the pastor drew a clear distinction between lust and love. He explained that love is not selfish but sacrificial. “True love seeks the good of the other person,” he said, adding that relationships built solely on physical desire are often short-lived.

He concluded by encouraging young people and couples to pursue genuine love rooted in understanding, patience, and commitment. According to him, it is this kind of love grounded in mutual respect and leading to marriage that stands the test of time.
