James Tamakloe, an NPP communicator for Tema West, has commended the Catholic Bishop for publicly condemning the inclusion of LGBTQ-related content in the national curriculum. Speaking on Nkosuo Nsem, Tamakloe described the Bishop’s stance as timely and necessary, stressing that religious leaders have a responsibility to speak on matters that affect moral values and national education.
He further called for the head of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) to be given a fair hearing to explain the rationale behind the inclusion of such definitions in the curriculum. According to Tamakloe, understanding the motivations and decision-making process behind the curriculum content is crucial, adding that due process must be followed.
Tamakloe emphasized the need for accountability and transparency, questioning why the content was not reviewed and removed before the curriculum was printed and distributed. He noted that clarity from NaCCA and the Ministry of Education is essential to restore public confidence in the curriculum development process.
