Apostle Abraham Lincoln Larbi has intensified calls for a major shake-up within Ghana’s anti-corruption landscape, urging Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng to step down immediately.
Speaking on the Ebaanosen Show on Plan B 104.5 FM, he confirmed that a petition has already been submitted to President John Dramani Mahama, pressing for decisive action.
He alleged that the Special Prosecutor has “tainted the credibility” of his office and has failed to build the cooperation needed to fight corruption effectively—particularly with the Attorney General and the citizens the office is meant to serve. The petition, he noted, also questions what it describes as overlapping responsibilities within the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
Apostle Lincoln argued that the government should consider either dissolving or fundamentally restructuring the OSP, proposing that the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) be strengthened to take over the mandate. He referenced prior public comments by Agyebeng, which he claimed suggest external interference in the office’s operations.
He cautioned that mishandling the matter could have political consequences, especially as corruption is expected to dominate campaign discussions ahead of the 2028 elections. According to him, Ghana’s anti-graft institutions remain “far too fragile,” making it difficult to hold public officials accountable.
The Apostle also criticised the muted stance of several religious leaders on corruption, alleging that some politicians deliberately court influential pastors to soften their public commentary.
He hinted at renewed civic mobilisation, revealing that another demonstration is being organised—this time centred on the controversial National Cathedral project.
