NDC’s Klenam Wornu Calls For Monitoring Committees to Ensure Accountability in Public Service

NDC’s Klenam Wornu Calls For Monitoring Committees to Ensure Accountability in Public Service

Klenam Wornu, an NDC communicator for the Kpone Katamanso Constituency, has called for the establishment of monitoring committees to ensure proper supervision of government officials and the effective use of public funds.

Speaking on Nkosuo Nsem, he emphasized that too many public officials misuse funds allocated for developmental projects, resulting in unfinished or poorly executed work. “We give out money to people to work, and they misuse the money without the work being done,” he stated.

Mr. Wornu further noted that the creation of monitoring committees would help track the progress of government projects and ensure that resources are used for their intended purposes.

He also expressed concern about the revelations from recent Public Accounts Committee sittings, pointing out that financial mismanagement is not limited to politicians alone. “Not only politicians are involved in wasting public funds, but the technocrats are also part of the problem,” he added.

According to him, the only way to restore public confidence and ensure value for money is through strict monitoring and accountability at every level of governance.
