NDC’s Nana Hemaa Calls for Collective Fight Against Galamsey

NDC’s Nana Hemaa Calls for Collective Fight Against Galamsey
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

An NDC communicator, Nana Hemaa, has emphasized the need for a deliberate and united national effort to end illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.

Speaking on Nkosuo Nsem, Nana Hemaa noted that galamsey has existed since the time of Ghana’s forefathers, but unlike today, the traditional miners never destroyed farmlands, cocoa farms, and water bodies.

“If our forefathers had destroyed our lands in the name of galamsey, we wouldn’t have any land to live on today,” she stated.

She stressed that the fight against galamsey must be approached intentionally and collectively, urging every citizen to play an active role.

Nana Hemaa reaffirmed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) remains committed to the fight against illegal mining and will continue to advocate for responsible and sustainable mining practices that protect Ghana’s natural resources.
