The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has announced that the government is committed to completing and commissioning all priority projects by the end of 2028.

Presenting the 2025 Mid-Year Budget in Parliament on Thursday, July 24, Dr. Ato Forson explained that the key criterion for selecting these projects was their proximity to completion.

He further disclosed that under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Official Creditor Committee (OCC), the Government of Ghana was required to submit a list of priority projects to align with the US$250 million annual disbursement ceiling.

“Following extensive engagements, Government has submitted the priority list of 24 projects to the OCC and the IMF,” he stated.

“This is expected to trigger the resumption of disbursements for projects on the list, once bilateral agreements are signed between Ghana and creditor countries.”
