Bawumia Camp Is Panicking; MPs’ Endorsement Is Pure Propaganda” — Dr. Stephen Amoah

I asked the police to arrest him – Nhyiaeso MP breaks silence on social activist Ralph’s arrest

Dr. Stephen Amoah, a key strategist for Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign, has dismissed the recent backing of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia by more than 60 NPP MPs as nothing more than propaganda fueled by panic within Bawumia’s camp.

Speaking in an interview on June 19, Amoah, who also serves as the Nhyiaeso MP, argued that the claimed support for Bawumia is grossly exaggerated and doesn’t represent genuine enthusiasm.

He challenged the numbers shown at a recent gathering, suggesting fewer than 30 MPs actually attended voluntarily and that many were there under pressure or merely for show. “Not all those who showed up truly support Dr. Bawumia,” Amoah asserted.

According to Amoah, the real support lies with grassroots members and former government officials. On the same day as Bawumia’s endorsement rally, over 260 former Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives met with Kennedy Agyapong, with about 90% reportedly backing him.

Amoah emphasized that his camp holds verifiable data, including photos, names, and contact details of supporters, ready to be shared. He also accused certain factions within the party of intimidating newer MPs into publicly endorsing Bawumia despite privately supporting others like Agyapong, Bryan Acheampong, or Adutwum.

While refraining from giving exact numbers, Amoah confidently stated that many MPs silently back Agyapong, hinting that the real contest is just beginning.

With the NPP presidential primary set for January 31, 2026, these early moves reveal a heated battle brewing behind the scenes.
