Dumsor Levy To Bring Down NDC – NPP Predicts

Dumsor Levy To Bring Down NDC – NPP Predicts
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has predicted that the recently introduced Energy Sector Levy (Dumsɔ Levy) will ultimately bring down the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration. According to Enoch Afful, NPP Communication Team Member for Tema Central Constituency, the levy is a misguided attempt by the NDC government to shift the burden of their mismanagement onto Ghanaians.

Appearing on Plan B FM’s late afternoon political show, Ɛbaa No Sɛn with host Ohene Kinnah, Afful stated, “The Dumsɔ Levy is a recipe for disaster and will seal the fate of the NDC.” He added that the levy would further exacerbate economic hardships faced by Ghanaians, leading them to vote against the NDC in the next elections.

Afful also appealed to driver unions to sympathise with ordinary Ghanaians, urging them to avoid sharp increases in transport fares as fuel prices rise due to the levy.

The NPP’s bold prediction comes amid widespread criticism of the Energy Sector Levy, with many Ghanaians expressing concerns about its potential impact on their livelihoods. Will the NDC government heed the criticism, or will the levy indeed backfire? Only time will tell, but the NPP is confident that the levy will cost the NDC dearly in the polls.
