The number of fatalities from the devastating explosion at Odumase, near Konongo in the Asante Akyem Central Municipality of the Ashanti Region, has risen to three.

Two more victims lost their lives after initially surviving the blast, which first claimed one life on Wednesday night. Several others, including firefighters, sustained various injuries.

Authorities confirm that the injured fire officers and other affected civilians have been treated and discharged, while about five victims remain hospitalized. Medical officials indicate that two critically injured individuals may be transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for specialized care.
