Politicizing Education in Ghana Will Not Help Us Get the Best Out of It – Kwasi Annan

A Communications Team Member of the Movement for Change in Tema, Greater Accra Region, Felix Kwasi Annan, has urged Ghanaians not to politicize the education sector.

Felix stated that politicizing education in the country would hinder efforts to achieve the best outcomes and is not the right approach for national progress.

Speaking during a panel discussion on Plan B FM’s Nkosuo Nsem show, hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Monday, 16 December 2024, Kwasi Annan expressed concern about the increasing politicization of Ghana’s education sector.

“Let’s not politicize our education sector; otherwise, we won’t get the best out of it,” he emphasized.

He highlighted the challenges and difficulties faced by both educators and students, noting that the education sector requires significant improvements in logistics, financial support, and infrastructure development.

Kwasi Annan further advocated for broader stakeholder engagement and consultation, particularly on issues like the Free SHS policy and the overall direction of the education sector.

“There should be a roundtable discussion with stakeholders to ensure things are done properly,” he said.

He concluded by stressing the need for a strong and well-supported education sector to secure a successful future for the next generation.
