A 33-year-old man, Papa Donkor, has allegedly butchered his father at Yaw Kra-krom in the Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region.

According to the suspect’s brother, Tei, last Sunday, Donkor told their father that he was fed up in life, and that their father was responsible for his alleged predicaments.

“Donkor told our father that the world has not been fair to him, and our father was responsible for what he was going through, so he will kill our father by chopping off his head,” Tei revealed.

He said their father quickly informed the elders of the town and asked them to call Donkor to advise him to do away with that notion.

He alleged that after a while, the suspect allegedly killed the father by chopping off his head and left the house to a nearby bush, but returned later.

According to Tei, he went back to check on his father only to find him beheaded and the lifeless body in a pool of blood.

He said the deceased’s wife, who was not at home, returned and saw the lifeless body of the deceased.

He mentioned that some residents from the village later visited the deceased’s house and helped in arresting Donkor.

“The residents saw the suspect coming out of his room with blood stains in his attire and blood oozing from his neck. But we know he injured himself to cover his mischievous act,” Tei said.

The police, who were later informed, took the lifeless body to a hospital morgue at Asankragwaa while Donkor, the suspect, was sent to Samreboi Samartex Hospital for treatment.
