A communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Tema Central Constituency, Mr. Anthony Anum has called on the ruling New Patriotic Party government led by President Nana Akufo-Addo to use the three months left to elections as an opportunity to create jobs for Ghanaian youth.

In a panel discussion on Plan B FM’s ‘Nkosuonsem’ show hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Tuesday, 13th August 2024, Mr. Anthony stated boldly that, Nana Akufo-Addo’s government didn’t help the youth of Ghana since he assumed office from 2017-2024.

“NPP government ked by President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia pledged to move Ghana from taxation to production but there is no productivity going on. Planting for food and jobs policy didn’t yield any positive result but t rather squashed resources” he lamented.

“You have only three months to go but you can still use that opportunity to do something meaningful to help Ghanaian youth” he added.

This come after the Chief of Akyem Wenchi in the Eastern Region, Daasebre Dr. Asumadu Appiah has expressed scepticism about the possibility of winning the fight against illegal mining popularly known as ‘galamsey’ in his area.

He explained that the lack of employment opportunities in the area makes it extremely difficult to do away with galamsey which is said to be destroying Ghana’s vegetation and water bodies.
