An unidentified man has been beaten to death and set ablaze after allegedly stealing a motorbike at Agona Asafo in the Agona East District of the Central Region.

Upon reaching a very quiet place at Agona Asafo, the suspect attacked the okada rider with a knife, put pepper in the rider’s eyes, and bolted with the motorbike.

Sources said the okada rider managed to rush to Asafo town and reported the case to his fellow okada riders, who then chase him.

Fortunately, they caught the suspect, beat him to pulp and set him ablaze.

The suspect is said to have died on the spot.

Assemblyman for Agona Asafo, Ishmael Odoom cautioned those involved in robbery in Agona Asafo to desist from such activities to avoid similar occurrences.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at Agona Swedru Hospital morgue for preservation while Police continue their investigations.
