Renowned Security Expert, Apostle. Thomas Kusi Appiah on Plan B Fm’s ‘Ebaanosen’ hosted by Ohene Kinnah on July 5 2024 said that businesses are collapsing due to nuisance taxes. He said the rate of unemployment is high under President Nana Akufo-Addo, people are struggling to cater for themselves and their families.

“Ghanaians are still paying COVID-19 levy after five years of COVID. Should Ghanaians pay for malaria and HIV AIDS levies? He quizzed

This came after the Member of Parliament for Adaklu Constituency in the Volta Region, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza sounded the alarm following violent protest in Kenya which was sparked by the introduction of new tax laws.

Speaking passionately in Parliament, the Ghanaian MP cautioned his colleagues about a potential civil unrest in Ghana if lawmakers do not reconsider their approach to legislation.

“These demonstrations, which saw protesters storming the Kenya Parliament, have ignited a continent-wide debate on legislative accountability and public trust”

The Security Expert, Apostle Thomas Kusi Appiah cautioned Ghanaian politicians to be very careful and think of the ordinary people.

“If care is not taken, what happened in Kenya can happen in Ghana. Ghana is sitting on a time bomb” he noted.
