Ghana climb up in latest FIFA Rankings

Ghana climb up in latest FIFA Rankings

Black Stars have moved up four places in the latest FIFA rankings, jumping from 68th to 64th.

Despite this rise, they remain 12th in Africa. This upward movement marks the first time in a while that the Black Stars have climbed in the rankings, following the end of their seven-game winless streak earlier in June.

Their resurgence began with a remarkable comeback victory over Mali on June 6 during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Second-half goals from Ernest Nuamah and Jordan Ayew secured a 2-1 win for Ghana.

Continuing their impressive form, the four-time African champions then triumphed in a thrilling 4-3 match against the Central African Republic (CAR). This nerve-wracking encounter saw Ghana go joint-top of Group I in the qualifiers, further boosting their FIFA ranking.

On the global stage, Argentina remain at the top of the rankings, followed closely by France and Belgium.

The Black Stars’ recent performances have revitalized the team, instilling hope and confidence as they aim for further success in the upcoming qualifiers and competitions.

The team will soon begin preparations for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers before revising the remainder of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers next game.
