Read details of his statement below;
My attention has been drawn to the most disturbing and disgusting spectacle of military brutalities in HAMILE,a suburb of the Lambussie constituency which occasioned last night, the 30th of May, 2024.
I strongly condemn this reprehensible conduct of the military against innocent civilians and their colleague men in uniform-POLICE OFFICERS who were only out and about in their normal activities in the community, performing their civic duties.
Such uncivilized conduct is irresponsible, unprofessional, reprehensible and unacceptable and is hereby condemned with the strongest indignation it deserves. These cowardly acts sin against the very fabric of our most cherished democratic values and human rights. The people of Lambussie Constituency, and indeed all Ghanaians, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect by our men in uniform, especially the Military.

Meanwhile, I have advised and further directed all persons who are victims of such an unjust and heinous act by the Military in HAMILE to seek medical treatment immediately and obtain a report therefrom for further action. I take the full cost of the MEDICAL TREATMENT OF ALL VICTIMS.
Also, ALL items seized by the MILITARY from the civilians including motorbikes and monies should be returned to their rightful owners IMMEDIATELY.
Further, the Minister for Defence, Hon Dominic Nitiwul will be duly briefed on the incident for his urgent and necessary action. I also call on the Military High Command and other relevant stakeholders to immediately conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and carry out the necessary sanctions on any MILITARY OFFICER found culpable in accordance with the law.
In the circumstances, I urge all residents of HAMILE and the Lambussie constituency as a whole, to remain calm and peaceful, as ever and always, and allow the authorities to handle the situation.
