Let’s empower women to reduce economic hardship in the country – NCCE

Let’s empower women to reduce economic hardship in the country – NCCE
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Tema Metropolitan director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) Mrs. Gifty Agyeiwaa Badu accompanied by Tema West NCCE director Mr. Fidel Bortey has urged leaders and the general public the empower women to reduce economic hardship in the country as part of activities to celebrate International Women’s Day.

“Let’s celebrate the incredible progress women have made over the past decades in different parts of society, playing a key role in the economic life that our grandmothers worked for and dreamed about“ she said  on Plan B FM’s family, relationship, and lifestyle show dubbed NYANSAPO FIE, hosted by Nana Asabea Asare on the topic International Women’s Day.

Mrs. Gifty Agyeiwaa Badu appealed to the government to continue to offer small loan support like Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLoC) to women to keep them in their business to reduce the hardship in their families and the country as a whole.

Tema West NCCE director Mr. Fidel Bortey also called on all women to wake up from their slumber and get something to do for themselves because people respect working women.

He encourages women not to wait for white color and office jobs but instead engage in petty trading, learning handicrafts that could earn them some money to help themselves and their families rather than depending on their husbands to survive.
