CAFCL: Medeama loses to Al Ahly at home

CAFCL: Medeama loses to Al Ahly at home

Medeama’s hopes of making it to the knockout stage of the CAF Champions League have been dealt a big blow after a 1-0 defeat to African giants, Al Ahly.

The Yellow and Mauves were hoping to cause an upset against Al Ahly at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium but failed to register a win.

Medeama started the game on a positive note, creating goal-scoring opportunities but were very blunt in attack.

The dagger was struck into their hearts when Hussein El Shahat finished off a brilliant piece of play to give the Egyptian club the lead.

Despite their best efforts, they failed to register a goal.

Medeama now sits bottom of Group D with four points and will be hanging their hopes on either Belouizdad or Young Africains not picking three points when they face each other.

Medeama’s final group game will be against CR Belouizdad away from home.
