The President for the National Service Personnel Association of the Tema Municipal Assembly Hamidu Apandago Mahamudu bemoaned the sanitation challenges bedeviling the Tema Metropolis.

“We are doing this to compliment the effort of the Tema Metropolitan assembly (TMA), as you can see the environment is engulfed with filth and we deemed it fit to keep the environment clean, hence our effort to clean up the whole place. As you can see, we are here in our numbers that is the personnel drawn from TMA, TDC, GPHA and the community. We are also sensitizing the community members so they can appreciate the need to keep their environment clean” he explained.

The women’s commissioner for the National Service Personnel Association of the Tema Municipal Assembly, Ayongo Princess Diana Wedaga also called on Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of tree planting to save the environment from degradation.

She called on residents in Tema to join hands with NASPA to keep the president’s “Go Green Project“ which seek to plant more trees to save the environment from going extinct.

She added that, the initiative will go a long way of getting rid the Tema Municipality of filth that has engulfed it.
