UTAG To Resume Strike On Friday

UTAG To Resume Strike On Friday

The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has called on its members to resume their halted protest over inadequate working conditions on Friday, October 8, 2021.

This was stated in a statement sent to the organization’s members on October 5, 2021.

The decision was made on Friday, October 1, 2021, according to the statement.

The decision was made essential, according to UTAG, because negotiations with the government have reached an impasse a month after the strike was terminated.

“Unfortunately, the Employer never modified its position under the one-month moratorium, despite UTAG making a number of concessions,” UTAG noted.

“As a result, at its meeting on October 1, 2021, the National Executive Committee of UTAG resolved that if the Employer’s position remains unchanged by Friday, October 8, 2021, members should restart the suspension of teaching and related activities until further notice,” the statement concluded.
