George Andah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West has lost his seat and would not be going back to Parliament for the next four years after he was beaten by the Parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui.
George Andah represented the people of Awutu Senya West in Parliament from 2016 until he lost the seat in the December 7,2020 polls which started and ended yesterday. He beat Hannah Tetteh of the NDC ahead of the 2016 elections.
The defeat means that Mr Andah has served as the MP for the area for one term.
Provisional results from the EC available to Plan-B F revealed that Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui polled 32,708 while George Andah polled 29,832.
Mr Andah during an earlier campaign in the constituency, appealed to the electorates to do well to change the Awutu Senya West narrative where MPs only serve one term. He appealed to them to give him another four more years in order not to shorten the gains made during his tenure and that of President Akufo-Addo.
The Awutu Senya West constituency has become one of the seats the NDC has managed to win back from the NPP in the just ended presidential and parliamentary elections.
