WAFU Zone B U-17: Ghana knocked Out By Burkina Faso

WAFU Zone B U-17: Ghana knocked Out By Burkina Faso
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Host nation Ghana has been knocked out of the WAFU Zone B U-17 championships after losing 1-0 to neighbours Burkina Faso on Tuesday at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Ousmane Camara’s late penalty was enough to give the Young Stallions victory, and will now face Nigeria in the final.

The result also means the Black Starlets will not be represented at the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations tournament in Algeria, the competition that serves as a qualifier for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Burkina Faso and Nigeria will represent the WAFU Zone B at next year’s youth championship in Algeria.

Ghana have now failed to qualify for the U-17 AFCON for the second time in a row, after failing in 2019.
