”Unyielding Pride and Anger Spark Defiance’ – Ansarullah”

”Grief Is Honoured in Islam” – Islamic Cleric

Muhammad Hussain Acquah, Headteacher of T.I. Ahmadiyya Basic School in Tema and National Preaching Secretary of Ansarullah Ghana, has emphasised that unyielding pride and anger spark defiance in relationships and should be avoided.

During an interview with Nana Asabea on Plan B FM’s social and lifestyle programme, “Nyansapɔ Fie,” he highlighted that speaking truth to power, challenging injustice, and advocating for change are significant forms of contribution and activism that can lead to transformative outcomes and a more just society.

Prophet Isaac Asante, Head Pastor of Rhema Prayer Ministry, echoed this sentiment in the context of marriages. He advised wives to avoid defiance to save their marriages, noting that whilst every defiant person may be principled, relationships require soft-handedness.

He drew a parallel with God’s considerate approach with Moses, despite being all-powerful.

Mary Bright Abelenma Coffie, a youth counsellor, fashion designer, and Alternative Dispute Resolution expert, offered a nuanced perspective.
She advocated for a defiant stance when workers are mistreated in the workplace but called for compromise in relationships to avoid constant conflict.

“Defiance leads to broken relationships when issues are repeatedly raised without any changes being made,” she noted.
