The family was reportedly run over by a Yutong bus travelling from Navrongo to Bolgatanga. They were said to be riding a motorbike from Sumbrungu to Anateem after attending a funeral when the incident occurred. All three victims, including the unborn child, died instantly.

The Assembly Member for the Sumbrungu Azorebisi Electoral Area, Elias Apasiya, confirmed to GBC News that burial rites have already been performed.
