A staff member of Bolgatanga Technical University, Atingane Francis Akipoe, his pregnant wife, and their young daughter have tragically lost their lives in a road accident.

The family was reportedly run over by a Yutong bus travelling from Navrongo to Bolgatanga. They were said to be riding a motorbike from Sumbrungu to Anateem after attending a funeral when the incident occurred. All three victims, including the unborn child, died instantly.

The Assembly Member for the Sumbrungu Azorebisi Electoral Area, Elias Apasiya, confirmed to GBC News that burial rites have already been performed.

Authorities have yet to release further details as investigations into the incident continue.
