A devastating incident has occurred at Suame Roundabout in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region, where a collapsed wall has left two traders battling for their lives at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The wall collapsed after a vehicle working for Rango Constructions, the company handling the Suame Interchange project, hit it.

Witness in an interview with OTEC News reporters, Kwame Agyenim Boateng and Elizabeth Gyamfua Fosu, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, September 9, 2025

Eyewitnesses described the injuries as severe, with one victim suffering broken legs and the other sustaining serious injuries after being trapped under the wall.

“The collapsed wall hit them very hard. One of the victims had her legs broken while the other had the wall hit her entire body, trapping her under the huge wall,” a witness said.

Fortunately, bystanders were able to rescue the victims from the rubble and rush them to the hospital for treatment.

The police have taken over the matter and are investigating the cause of the accident.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety measures in place for construction projects in the area.

The victims are currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, with their conditions reported to be critical.
