The Kotobabi District Court on Tuesday February 3, 2026, granted a GH¢10,000.00 bail with two sureties each to two workers of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) over the theft of 160 litres of diesel.

The court ordered Daniel Ansah, 46 and Sampson Gyamfi, 33, both electrical technicians at KIA, to report to the Police three times in a week.

They have since denied conspiring to steal the 160 litres of diesel, valued GH¢1,793.60, belonging to the Ghana Airport Company Limited.

The two are to reappear at the court, presided over by Maame Yaa Kusi-Mensah, on February 18, 2026.

Police Chief Inspector Christine Bansah, giving the facts, said Foster Afloh, the Complainant was a National Investigation Bureau officer stationed at the Kotoka International Airport.

Ansah and Gyamfi, the accused persons, are both Electrical Technicians with Ghana Airport company Limited.

On January 18, 2026, prosecution said at 0328 hours, the complainant was on his routine checks at the Ghana Airport Company Limited when he intercepted the accused persons conveying eight yellow gallons containing diesel in a Nissan pickup with registration number GV531-14.

The accused persons, she said, were questioned but they could not give any reasonable explanation, hence they were arrested together with the exhibits and escorted to the Airport Police station where a formal complaint was lodged.

During investigations, the accused persons admitted the offences in their cautioned statements.

They led the police to the emergency power plants section at the KIA where they siphoned the diesel.

They were arraigned after investigations.
