The Ghana Police Service has rescheduled the full implementation of its automated traffic law enforcement programme, TRAFFITECH-GH, from October 1 to November 1, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Police Service on Tuesday, September 29, the postponement is to allow for more extensive public awareness and education on the programme.
The education campaign will focus on how TRAFFITECH-GH operates, the traffic offences it will detect and the Electronic Notices of Violation (ENV) that will be issued to motorists who violate traffic regulations.
The Police Service said the programme forms part of efforts to address indiscipline on Ghana’s roads and improve compliance with road traffic laws and regulations.
Motorists, drivers and vehicle owners have therefore been urged to use the additional month to familiarise themselves with the system ahead of its full rollout.
The Police Service also expressed appreciation to the media for its support throughout the introduction of TRAFFITECH-GH and said it remains committed to working with stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the programme and improved road safety.
