Mr. Thomas Aryetey,A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ayensuano Constituency, has stated that the Lerner Commission derives its authority to function as a commission from Article 45 of the 1992 Constitution.

Speaking on Plan B FM’s EBAANOSEN programme hosted by Ohene Kennah, Mr. Aryetey noted that if the institution is to operate more effectively and achieve meaningful progress, certain provisions of the Constitution may need to be amended.

He further shared his personal view, expressing doubts about the Lerner Commission’s ability to effectively handle some matters within its mandate.
