The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Twifo Atti Morkwa constituency of the Central Region has been accused of mismanaging campaign funds following the party’s s defeat in the 2024 elections.

Mr. Roger Oscar Tetteh, the Constituency Chairman, confirmed in an interview with Ohene Kinnah on Ebaanosen that tensions are high within the NPP, with some party members demanding accountability.

Some polling station executives, during a meeting, blamed the constituency executives for the party’s s electoral defeat, accusing them of using the campaign funds to buy cars for themselves, he stated.

He added that he would engage grassroots leaders to identify the factors that contributed to the loss and recommend strategies for rebuilding the party.

The growing tension in the constituency recently escalated into a violent altercation when Kwadwo Debrah bit off a polling station officer’s s finger, causing severe bleeding. The victim has since been hospitalized at the Twifo Praso Government Hospital.

The case has been reported to the Twifo Atti Morkwa District Police Command for further investigation, but no arrests have been made yet.
