Renowned speaker and Creative Director of Kess Millinery and Beads, Lady Elizabeth Kesewaa Nortey, has called upon congregants, as a matter of urgency and importance, to support their respective ministries through giving, thereby helping to sustain and fulfil God’s command.
She shared a perspective on giving and tithing, particularly in the context of religious obligations and personal responsibility, highlighting the importance of contributing to the community and supporting the ministry. While acknowledging that individuals have different financial priorities, Lady Kess emphasised that giving to support the ministry is a matter of respect for God’s command, enabling one to covenant with Him and attain His blessings.
Speaking to hostess Nana Asabea on Plan B FM’s social and lifestyle programme, ‘Nyansapɔ Fie’, Lady Kess, as she is affectionately known, outlined potential reasons for giving to support the ministry. These include the role of faith and spirituality in shaping one’s relationship with money and giving, the balance between giving to support the community and managing one’s own financial needs, and the idea that giving can be a way of showing appreciation for what one has received from God, thereby receiving more from Him. She quoted the famous biblical passage from Malachi 3:10: “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”
