Spare Parts Dealers Call for Price Control Amidst Cedi Stability

Spare Parts Dealers Call for Price Control Amidst Cedi Stability
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Abossey Okai Concerned Spare Parts Dealers Association is backing a call for price control to bring relief to consumers amidst the recent stability of the Ghanaian Cedi against the US Dollar.

The Association’s Public Relations Officer, Takyi Addo, made the appeal on Plan B FM’s Nkɔsoɔnsɛm show hosted by Obidehyeɛ Kofi Sekyi.

According to Addo, the stability of the Cedi presents an opportunity for dealers to adjust prices and alleviate the financial burden on consumers.

He announced plans for a general meeting to officially appeal to members to reduce prices and also hinted at possible protests, including a march to Parliament or court, to advocate for the reinstatement of a price review system. This system, he noted, would enable government regulation of the automobile industry, ensuring fair pricing and better oversight.
