Some Clergy and Civil Society groups are hypocrites – Kwasi Annan

Some Clergy and Civil Society groups are hypocrites – Kwasi Annan

A communication team member of Movement for Change for Tema, Felix Kwasi Annan has emphatically stated that, certain Clergy and Civil Society groups are hypocrites for keeping mute under the tenure of President Nana Akufo-Addo.

In a panel discussion on Plan B FM’s ‘Nkosuonsem’ show hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Wednesday, 14th August, 2924, Felix Kwasi Annan made it clear that, the youth of Ghana are suffering but there is no one speaking on their behalf.

“Ghanaian youth are tired of the duopoly governance of NPP and NDC. Always there is corruption in their governance but they play blame games. If the Clergy and Civil Society groups are not talking, we the youth will speak for ourselves. The Clergy and Civil Society groups criticized happenings under former President John Dramani Mahama, why can’t they criticise happenings under President Nana Akufo-Addo ? This shows the kind of hypocrites they are” he stated.

This come after the National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo has expressed strong disapproval of what he perceives as the selective activism of certain Clergy and Civil Society groups in the country.

Speaking at the launch of the NDC Youth Manifesto at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) in Accra on Monday, August 12th, 2024, Mr. Opare Addo criticized these groups for their past actions against former President John Dramani Mahama and their current silence on alleged corruption within the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
