SIC Life Insurance Company has appointed Mr Kwaku Appiah-Menka II as the new Managing Director of the company.
The announcement of the new managing director was made when the company inaugurated its new seven member board at the Ministry of Finance.
Mr Appiah-Menka II, who joined the company in 2017 has vast experience in Finance, Banking, Investment, Marketing, Sales and Research.
Prior to joining SIC Life, he worked in an executive management position as Group Chief Operations Officer at Appiah Menka Complex Limited, Ashanti Oil Mills and Apino Oil Palm Plantations Limited.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Manchester, England and a Masters of Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School, Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia.
Commenting on his appointment, he said although it was an honour for him, he was very much aware of the enormous responsibility on his shoulders.
“I am well aware of the task ahead of me and I will work very closely with the team to ensure that we put SIC Life on the pedestal that it really deserves to be,” he stated.
New board
The seven-member governing board of the company was inaugurated by Justice Sophia R. Bernasko-Essah, who led the members to swear the oath of office and secrecy.
The mandate of the board is to provide guidance and direction to enable the company to achieve its short to long-term financial and non-financial objectives.
The board is chaired by the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lifeforms Group, Mr Akwasi Aboagye Atuah.
Other members of the board include the newly appointed MD, Mr Kwaku Appiah-Menka II; Mr Stephen Oduro, Mrs Felicia Gyamfi Ashley, Mr Samuel Agyapong Appenteng, Dr Edith Dankwa, and Dr Daniel Anarfi.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Chairman of the board, Mr Atuah, assured shareholders of the commitment of the board to grow the assets of the company.
He said he was excited that most of the board members were retained and was confident that the new faces would bring new ideas and strategies to further help grow the company.
“Our agenda is to make SIC life number one and with the new lieutenants on board, I know we can achieve that” he stated
He commended the management and staff of SIC Life for their dedication and hard work that has sustained the growth of the company.
