Sachet water prices to remain unchanged as govt intervenes

Sachet water prices to remain unchanged as govt intervenes
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry has announced that the price of sachet water will remain unchanged, following a last-minute intervention to halt a planned price increase.

In a press release issued on Monday, April 6, 2026, the Ministry commended the Ghana Plastic Manufacturers Association (GPMA) and the National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) for suspending the intended price adjustment.

According to the Ministry, the decision underscores its commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring stability within the market. It assured the public that sachet water will continue to be sold at current prices.

The Ministry further disclosed that it will hold an urgent meeting with leadership of both associations on Wednesday, April 8, to address key challenges confronting the sector.

Authorities say the engagement forms part of broader efforts to work collaboratively with industry stakeholders to resolve issues swiftly and maintain market stability.
