The Head Pastor of Global Ark of Grace Chapel, Reverend Sam Manful, has stressed the importance of taking calculated risks in one’s Christian faith.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s “Nyansapɔ Fie” programme with host Nana Asabea, Rev. Manful cautioned that while risk-taking can lead to success, it must be done with discernment to avoid reckless decisions.
Rev. Manful noted that many risk-takers have come to grief due to failing to seek divine guidance. He encouraged teachers to nurture students who exhibit risk-taking traits, suggesting they may go on to become effective leaders. According to Rev. Manful, factors contributing to risk-taking behaviour include personality traits, desire for attention, peer pressure, lack of guidance, and family influence.
Mary Bright Abelenma Coffie, a fashion designer, youth counsellor, and Alternative Dispute Resolution expert, shared similar insights. “Always seek the face of God before taking any risk,” she advised.
“Don’t let pride go ahead, but always learn to speak good things to confess positively in all things, especially when talking to wards.”
She emphasised the importance of faith in God when taking risks, highlighting the need for humility and positive confession.
By balancing faith with prudence, individuals can make informed decisions and navigate the complexities of risk-taking. Rev. Manful and Mary Bright Abelenma Coffie’s comments serve as a reminder for Christians to approach risk-taking with wisdom and spiritual guidance.
