Rev. Benjamin Boateng of the Assemblies of God, Cornerstone Family Chapel, has cautioned workers and employers to understand the difference between necessary delay and harmful procrastination, noting that poor time management can negatively affect productivity.
According to him, when a person is working on a task and an unexpected issue arises that makes it impossible to continue, it is sometimes wiser to set the work aside rather than force it under unfavourable conditions. He explained that knowing when to pause or redirect one’s effort can help prevent mistakes and wasted energy.
Rev. Boateng, however, stressed that habitual procrastination is dangerous, especially in leadership and management. He observed that an employer who constantly delays tasks is unlikely to achieve successful production or provide effective supervision for workers.
He added that such employers often become too tolerant of excuses from employees, which can weaken discipline and reduce overall efficiency in the workplace.
Rev. Boateng therefore encouraged both workers and employers to manage time wisely, remain disciplined, and distinguish between strategic postponement and procrastination that hinders growth and productivity
