Re- Registration of SIM Card Begins Today.

Re-registration of mobile SIM cards is set to begin later today, Friday, October 1, 2021, across the country.

The exercise is expected to run six months, with the deadline set for March 31, 2022.

The registration, according to the government, is intended to cleanse the country’s online of fraudsters, as well as to monitor and track down people who use their phones for illicit purposes.

To register their SIM cards, users would need the National Identification Card, often known as the Ghana card.

Any SIM card that has not been registered before the end of the exercise will be deactivated.
