Prophet Asante’s hard-hitting message: “control and manipulation are forms of abuse”

Prophet Asante’s Hot Tip to Wives: “Stay Neat, We’re Watching!”

Prophet Isaac Asante, the Head Pastor of Rhema Prayer Ministry, has delivered a powerful message, declaring that control and manipulation are forms of abuse.

In an interview with Nana Asabea on Plan B FM’s social and lifestyle programme, “Nyansapɔ Fie”, he emphasised that abuse extends beyond physical harm to encompass control and restrictions on freedom.

Prophet Asante urged individuals trapped in abusive relationships to prioritise their safety and well-being, advising them to “Leave the marriage, leave the relationship, leave” if they feel emotionally or physically harmed. He highlighted the availability of support resources, such as helplines and counselling services.

The Prophet’s statement underscores the various forms of manipulation, including:

– Emotional manipulation
– Financial manipulation (controlling finances, exploiting dependence, or theft)
– Psychological manipulation (gaslighting, love bombing, or using silence as punishment)

Common tactics employed by manipulators include:

– Gaslighting
– Guilt-tripping
– Stonewalling (withholding affection, communication, or intimacy)
– Isolation

By acknowledging these behaviours as abusive, individuals can take steps to protect themselves and seek assistance.
