Prioritize electrical Safety to Prevent Disasters — Fire Service

GNFS Withdraws Assault Case Against British National
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Station Officer 1, Nicholas Ohene Agyei, has urged the public to adopt proactive safety measures, especially when dealing with electrical gadgets.

Speaking on the Nyansapo fie segment on Plan B 104.5 FM, he stressed that safety begins with being conscious of the potential consequences whenever we come close to electrical appliances.

Mr. Agyei cautioned that one of the most common but dangerous practices is overloading extension boards. According to him, this can easily trigger fires, particularly in crowded environments or group settings.

He further pointed out that many people overlook crucial electrical safety concerns, especially during rainfall. Explaining the risks, he noted that lightning strikes can travel through electrical lines, increasing voltage levels and posing serious dangers. He advised the public to unplug or “lighten” electrical cables during thunderstorms to minimize the risk of electrical shock or fire.

Mr. Agyei concluded by urging Ghanaians not to wait for an accident to occur before taking action. He emphasized the need to handle electrical gadgets with caution and to always put safety measures first.
