The Private Newspaper Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG Ghana) has confirmed that National Security invited and interrogated the Editor of the Current Issues Newspaper Prosper Agbenyega, over a publication he made on some classified documents.

Prosper Agbenyega was invited by the National Security on Monday, April 7.

According to PRINPAG Ghana, the interrogation lasted for about three hours.

A statement issued by PRINPAG on Monday said “The PRINPAG National Secretariat wishes to inform members that we have spoken with our colleague, Mr. Prosper Agbenyega, Editor of Current Issues Newspaper, following his invitation and appearance at the National Security premises earlier today.

“Mr. Agbenyega has since returned and is in good health. He reported that the engagement was cordial and professional. The discussion, which lasted for about three hours, centred on a publication he made last week concerning some classified documents.

“He was neither charged nor arrested, and no bail conditions were imposed on him. We thank all members for their concern and solidarity.”
