Mary Bright Abelenma Coffie, a youth counsellor, fashion designer, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practitioner, has urged wives to incorporate their husbands’ surnames into their prayers. This unique approach, she believes, can help break free from dominating family traits and hereditary patterns that may be affecting their spouses.
In an interview on Plan B FM’s “Nyansapɔ Fie” programme, with hostess Nana Asabea, Auntie May, as she is affectionately known, explained that including the husband’s surname in prayers can help dissolve unseen spiritual bondages inherited from his family’s background.
“As the head of the family, both spiritually and physically, the husband’s surname carries significant weight,” she noted.
“If he is dominated by a negative family trait, it can impact his entire nuclear family, who bear his surname.”
Auntie May emphasised the importance of praying to break any negative energy surrounding the husband’s surname, ensuring a peaceful and harmonious home. She also stressed that living a life of purpose requires intentional prayer and a deep understanding of one’s identity and values.
“Prayer is not just about asking for things; it’s about aligning ourselves with God’s purpose for our lives,” she said. “When we pray with intention and purpose, we can break free from limitations and fulfill our destiny.”
In conclusion, Auntie May’s advice offers a powerful reminder that prayer can be a transformative tool for living a life of purpose. By incorporating our husbands’ surnames into our prayers and seeking God’s guidance, we can break free from negative patterns and fulfill our divine potential.
