The Ghana Police Service has advised motorists to remain vigilant for signs that they may be followed by criminals, particularly after leaving places such as banks.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s family, relationship and lifestyle programme Nyansapo Fie, hosted by Akosua Gyamfua, Chief Inspector Acheampongmaa Evelyn urged motorists to pay close attention to vehicles or motorcycles that appear to follow them consistently.
According to her, being followed for an extended period could be a warning sign that a person is being monitored and should prompt motorists to exercise caution.
Chief Inspector Acheampongmaa Evelyn also cautioned the public to be careful when handing their vehicle keys to other people, stressing the need to ensure that such individuals are genuinely trusted.
She further advised motorists against leaving money, mobile phones, laptops and other valuables in visible places inside their vehicles.
She explained that criminals may be attracted to items they can easily see, making it important for motorists to keep valuables out of sight or store them in secure compartments.
Chief Inspector Acheampongmaa Evelyn encouraged the public to remain alert and avoid creating opportunities for criminals, stressing that simple preventive measures can help reduce the risk of vehicle break-ins and other related crimes.
