The Police in the Twifo Atti Morkwa District in the Central Region are looking for Yaw Oboobi, 60, who allegedly defiled a 12-year-old pupil of Twifo Neamakurom D/A Basic School in the Twifo Atti Morkwa District of the Central Region.

The girl fell seriously ill after the alleged defilement.

According to eyewitnesses, Yaw Oboobi, who is married with three children, allegedly defiled the girl in his bedroom at Twifo Neamakurom.

After the incident, there was a change in how the girl walked, prompting questions from her family members.

Initially, the girl was quiet but later disclosed that Yaw Oboobi had slept with her and given her five cedis to keep the incident a secret or she will die.

The girl was taken to the Twifo Atti Morkwa District Hospital, where a doctor confirmed that the girl had been defiled.

The case has been reported to the Twifo Atti Morkwa Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) and the police are currently on the look-out for Oboobi who is on the run.

The DOVVSU has commenced investigations into the matter and the Twifo Atti Morkwa District Police Commander, Superintendent Charles Addei Boateng has urged the public to provide any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect.
