Personnel of the Ghana Police Service have foiled an attempted jailbreak at Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region.
Information gathered by Plan B News indicate that the act happened at about 12:30 Pm on Saturday, July 15, 2023.
Police indicate that the officer on duty was going around the station on inspection and in the process heard a strange sound from the cells.
He drew the attention of his station officer who instructed a subordinate officer to enter the cell in order to find out what was amiss.
It was however discovered that a block of cells was being removed by inmates in an attempt to escape from police custody.
Preliminary investigation proved that it was spearheaded by Nicholas Sogah, one of the suspects in custody who had devised the plan for their escape.
All suspects have since been moved to different custody, according to officials of the Police Service in the area.
