The Ghana Police Service has uncovered and apprehended six individuals, four of whom are juveniles attending Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC) in Legon, Accra, for orchestrating a staged kidnapping incident.

Among those arrested are Isaac Kissi Adjei, known as Kofi Black, and Courage Teiko, also known as Timmy.

According to preliminary investigations, the motive behind the staged kidnapping was a juvenile’s attempt to extort money from his parents, purportedly to fund travel abroad.

This juvenile colluded with others to fabricate the kidnapping, demanding a three hundred and forty thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵340,000.00) as ransom from the victim’s parents.

“The investigation has revealed a disturbing plot concocted by these individuals, driven by greed and deceit,” stated [insert name], a spokesperson for the Ghana Police Service. “Their actions not only endangered the safety of the purported victim but also caused undue distress to their families.” A statement by the police said.

The scheme, however, was not entirely successful, as the perpetrators managed to extract only Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵20,000.00) from the ransom demand.

“In line with legal protocols, the identities of the juveniles will be withheld, and their parents and guardians have been duly informed,” emphasized [insert name], the police spokesperson. “Our investigation into this matter remains ongoing, and we are committed to ensuring that all involved parties face the appropriate consequences for their actions.”said the Police.

The Ghana Police Service reiterates its unwavering commitment to upholding the law and safeguarding the well-being of all citizens.

Instances of deceit and criminality will be met with swift and decisive action, underscoring the importance of accountability and justice in society.
