Otto Addo Unveils 24-Man Black Stars squad For Mali, Chad World Cup Qualifiers

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has released a 24-man squad for next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.

The call-up list features established names such as Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, Gideon Mensah, Antoine Semenyo, and Inaki Williams. Making his debut is Union Berlin defender Derrick Arthur Köhn, handed a first invitation after impressing in the Bundesliga. The 26-year-old left-back joined Union from Galatasaray this summer, having stood out on loan at Werder Bremen with 27 appearances and two goals last season.

Kamal Deen Sulemana, who recently made the switch from Southampton to Serie A side Atalanta, also secures a place following a strong start in Italy. Elisha Owusu is recalled after putting a long-term injury behind him, while youngster Caleb Yirenkyi earns a reward for his eye-catching displays with Danish club FC Nordsjaelland and at the Unity Cup in London.

Tariq Lamptey returns to the national fold, with Christopher Bonsu Baah and Ireland-based goalkeeper Joseph Anang also included for the double-header.

Ghana lead Group I of the African qualifiers with 15 points from six matches, having recorded five wins and a single defeat. The Black Stars meet Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on Thursday, September 4, before returning to Accra to host Mali at the Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8.
