One dead, another injured after accident on Accra-Kumasi Highway

One person has died and another rescued following a fatal accident at Adansi 47 Breku near Asankare on the Accra–Kumasi Highway in the Ashanti Region.

According to reports, a cargo vehicle traveling to Kumasi collided with a Pick-up, which was also travelling to Accra. A combined rescue team from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) stations in Konongo–Odumase and Juaso quickly responded to the scene.

Firefighters successfully extricated one injured victim, who were subsequently transported to the Juaso Government Hospital by the National Ambulance Service.

The body of the deceased was also retrieved and handed over to the Police for further investigation to establish the cause of the accident.
